Family Room Monitor
The Sunday Family room is for parents and infants. It is equipped with video connecting to the main sanctuary so infants and children up to 5 years old can play and interact while parents view the service. A monitor is required every Sunday to receive families, over-see the environment making sure all is safe and harmonius, then perform basic house-keeping after families leave. This volunteer role has some interaction with leaders who administrate Sunday School.
Graphic Arts Design
Lake Shrine utilizes various forms of media to communicate with the congregation and general public. Media is generated in digital form and is produced with graphic art presentation for Temple displays, flyers, webpages, newsletters and official email communication. This role involves serving Temple events and activities by formatting Information and communication in support of Temple activities.
Written content editor
Lake Shrine Temple produces written digital content for its website, newsletter, official social media posts and hard copy for flyers, hand-outs and displays. This volunteer role performs basic editing functions and may also help with the preparation of content for Temple media.
Zoom meeting host
The Temple live streams weekly Zoom services from a small studio on-site. There is a team that serves from home to assist in supporting this live stream. Team members rotate the hosting role monitors participant arrival, manages the waiting room, admits participants and late-comers then observes the event to assist through closing.
Temple Housekeeping team member
The Temple has a professional cleaning service which performs routine weekly cleaning of high traffic carpet areas and bathrooms. Additional support is needed to do light tasks. Volunteers serve with a small team to perform housekeeping for Temple interior including Including sanctuary, altar, foyer, and Sunday School rooms.
Catering coordinator
The Temple stages weekend events of 50-100 people, which require light meal-service such as sandwiches, wraps, salads, drinks and desserts. This role involves creating menus, ordering, arranging for prepared food to be delivered or picked up, food service set-up and presentation, then cleaning up. Some off-site development and ordering and some In-house food preparation using the Temple commercial kitchen is an option.
Refreshment Food Service Team
Kitchen prepration and refreshment food service serving together with other volunteers.
Refreshment Coordinator
The Temple hosts weekend meetings and gatherings of 25-100 people that require light food service with water, juice, tea, coffee, bakery and healthy snacks. This role involves communicating with event leaders, ordering food items and uses the Temple commercial kitchen to prepare and offer simple refreshments.
Audio/Visual (AV) Operator
Our Audio-Video team serves in three specific roles: 1. Operator for sound and camera during regular services. Description: This role serves on Sundays and scheduled events throughout the year. The operator is responsible for microphones and remote viewing of services to auxilary room locations. We operate for Sunday services, evening Commemorative Services, Saturday retreats, meditations and various special events, so we need to have a full team! We can be flexible to fit the time you have to give. 2. Operator for video recording Description: Lake Shrine video records Sunday services via a recording studio in the basement beneath the sanctuary. Operators work remotely with camera views and monitor screens for image quality. Finished video files are exported for editing and posting on SRF Youtube channel. 3. Audio/Visual (AV) Systems Technical Group (projects) Description: We have a somewhat complex set of audio and video equipment at both Temple and Lake Levels. You can help to maintain existing and work on projects to make improvements.
Sign – up Genius Administrator
Administrate Sign-up Genius account for Lake Shrine, design and launch individual event sign-up pages on request, monitor event sign-up activity and solve problems as needed. Also manage mailing database for the Lake Shrine community.
Meditation Garden Guest Reception
Guest Reception welcomes all reserved guests to the Lake Shrine meditation gardens, Wednesday - Sunday. On arrival, first time visitors are given a short introduction to the Lake Shrine site, then they are directed to the Court of Religions for an orientation presentation on how to make the most of their visit. Guest Reception also ensures that guests are aware of guidelines and that they agree to follow them.
Temple usher/hosting team
Our team fully supports all the events and services at Lake Shrine. We are often the first people making contact with newcomers. We meet and greet, coordinate activities in the temple, manage parking and gate entrances and serve as ambassadors.
Sunday Welcome Team
Informed representatives to greet, answer questions provide information and offer temple orientation tours. One hour on Sundays after the morning services, from 12:00-1:00pm. Takes place at an informal “information center” using a stand-up bistro table indoors or outdoors in the courtyard. One or two representative greet and welcome guests, providing information about Lake Shrine and answering questions.
