Lake Shrine Today
Friday Temple Tour, February 15
Dear guests, our Friday Temple tour at 2 pm has been postponed. Please check this website before traveling to the Lake for further updates.
New Lake Shrine Hours
Dear Guests, as of Tuesday, March 5 2019 the Lake Shrine will have a new opening hour: 10 am Tuesday – Saturday. To help us move forward with our shoreline restoration project we find it necessary to change our opening hours. Opening one hour later will provide our maintenance and garden crews more time to complete tasks.
Tuesday – Saturday 10 am – 4:30 pm
Sunday Noon – 4:30 pm
Shoreline Project Update
The first work area of the Lake shoreline restoration project is making good progress. Our maintenance crew have driven steel pylons into the Lake bed and attached a steel mesh to them. Granite rock is then poured into the space between the Lake bank and the submerged steel barrier.

If I don’t see you, remember I am working for you in some other place. My seeing you all the time will not necessarily help you. You will receive more by meditating deeply and regularly. I am not here only to help you in this life, but in the beyond.
— Paramahansa Yogananda
The Shoreline Project
The natural banks around the lake have eroded and become unstable in many places. A project to restore the integrity of the shoreline using reinforced granite stone is in progress. A portion of the site beneath the Lotus Towers will become a staging area, while the work itself will take place from a custom barge floating on the lake. The circular path around the lake will remain open to visitors, but the work may at times disrupt the tranquility of the environment. The long-term benefit will be preservation of the shoreline and the lakeside meditation gardens we all love. Thank you for your patience and your generous monetary support.
