Lake Shrine Today

Daily Advisories

Saturday, January 25

Dear Lake Shrine guests, ceremonies being conducted at the Lake on Saturday, January 25 will result in the Windmill Chapel being closed from 10 am – 2:30 pm. Lake parking will be restricted, however parking is available east of the Lake entrance on Palisades Drive.

Windmill Chapel Meditations

New to meditation? join us in our Windmill Chapel, Lake Level on Wednesdays at 12 – 12:30 pm for a beginners’ meditation or Sundays from 2 – 2:30 pm  for a guided meditation. All are welcome.

The Shoreline Project

The natural banks around the lake have eroded and become unstable in many places. A project to restore the integrity of the shoreline using reinforced granite stone is in progress. A portion of the site beneath the Lotus Towers will become a staging area, while the work itself will take place from a custom barge floating on the lake. The circular path around the lake will remain open to visitors, but the work may at times disrupt the tranquility of the environment. The long-term benefit will be preservation of the shoreline and the lakeside meditation gardens we all love. Thank you for your patience and your generous monetary support.

Shoreline Project Update

Completed shoreline around the Court of Religions.

The images above show the final form of the new landing. Stone inlay encases the structure while red brick is laid for the stairs and deck. In between the pillars decorative wrought iron will be secured. The new landing will match the Krishna Falls bridge and work completed around the Windmill Chapel.

One secret of progress is self-analysis. Introspection is a mirror in which to see recesses of your mind that otherwise would remain hidden from you. Diagnose your failures and sort out your good and bad tendencies. Analyze what you are, what you wish to become, and what shortcomings are impeding you.
