Updated January 27, 2025
Lake Shrine gardens, temple and retreat remain closed to the public due to fire recovery work.
Warmest greetings to all of you.
It was very special for us to meet with some of you during our Zoom event on January 23, and we look forward to connecting with you in the days and weeks to come.
In the meantime, we wanted to share an update. We are aware that an exception was recently made for residents of the Palisades area to access their residence — subject to escort by law enforcement for those who provide proof of residency. However, please note that the LA County Evacuation Order remains in effect for the area.
Therefore, the entire area including the SRF Lake Shrine, is still lawfully closed to public access. (As stated above, only those who live in the area are allowed access, escorted by law enforcement.)
Before we can open the SRF Lake Shrine to the public, there are also many steps SRF needs to take to comply with government regulations for ensuring the safety of our visitors. This may take some time, and we appreciate your understanding. We will notify you when we are ready to reopen and welcome you back. Please check the Lake Shrine website for updates.
We are deeply grateful to our wonderful community of SRF members and friends who have rallied around those who have been affected by the wildfires, providing material, emotional, and spiritual support during this challenging time. The collective prayers and good wishes of our Gurudeva, Paramahansa Yogananda’s worldwide spiritual family go out to those in need.
Please know that we keep you in our hearts and look forward to welcoming you back to our beloved Lake Shrine as soon as possible.
In divine friendship, Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine
